Increase Your Collections Success by Using the Customer Notes Field

Use the customer notes field keep track of collections actions and to create a log.  Each time there is customer contact regarding monies owed make a note of the date, content of the conversation, and any follow up actions needed.  Specific details regarding promised payments should be carefully noted.  This log can be printed later for a collection agency, small claims court or for an attorney.  It also allows several people all to know what is going on with a specific customer.  For example, it prevents someone to providing services to someone that has been cut off among other things.  Being able to specifically reference a prior conversation lets people know that you are paying attention and will serve you well if you are unable to collect the money on your own.  The customer notes can be accessed both from the customer center via a button located in the upper right hand corner of the screen or by clicking “Edit Customer” and using the edit notes button.
